On November 5th, 2009, the Surrey Board of Trade held the 11th annual Surrey Board of Trade Excellence Awards, recognizing businesses around Surrey in for their excellence. MOONLiTE Productions was nominated for the second time, having won the award in 2008. This year, there were two other major companies nominated alongside MOONLiTE, including Nu Experience Designs and Static Grass Productions. The awards ceremony was held at the Vancouver Guildford Sheraton hotel, and Christy Clark, host of the Christy Clark show on CKNW, was the master of ceremonies for the show. Congrats to the dedication and hardwork to the people who work with MOONLiTE Productions. It is with the support of all these people throughout the years, that we have gotten to where we stand today.

MOONLiTE PRODUCTIONS and Glen Chua have once again been nominated for Student Entrepreneur of the Year by Surrey Board of Trade! Each year, they award businesses within Surrey that have shown excellence in their fields. The team took home the award last year. This year’s event will be taking place on November 5th at the Surrey Guildford Sheraton Plaza. Good luck to the entire team!

It was first back in the fall of 2005 that I thought about doing a classic ghost story film. I remember we shot that film out on a deserted road in Cloverdale with Andrew Atkinson, Tim Reyes, and Natalie Konowalchuk. We titled the film “RED CARNATIONS”, and although not completed, the basic storyline was similar to “The Lady in White”. I know I have the film somewhere, so if I can find it, I’ll upload it. The Lady in White is finally being released next month after a year and a half of production and post production. The film stars an all star cast including Matt Anderson and Beatrice Ilg. The film comes right in time for the Halloween season, check out the films page for more details on MOONLiTE’s most anticipated film!

After three months of post production, and a lengthy hiatus, the MOONLiTE team has come back for the production of Edgar Allen Poe’s classic poem, “THE RAVEN”. The adaptation of the poem takes place in war torn Germany, during the Second World War. The film stars Brock Shoveller as German Nazi vetern, Werner. “THE RAVEN” is expected to release later this winter.

Tom La always thought that “A Christmas Carol”, the film which we made back in grade 11 was one of the best MOONLiTE films ever. It was always his favorite. What drew me into the project of Memories, (originally titled “Christmas in Vancouver”) was the magic behind the whole Christmas season and the big question of “What if…” More…
